Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle type of physical medicine that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve health and physical performance.
Developed by an osteopathic physician, CST subtly and gently manipulates joints, muscle attachments and fascia (connective tissue) in the Craniosacral system which extends from the skull (cranium) to the tailbone (sacrum). These small movements release tension due to injury, illness, or posture, and allow the body to relearn proper functioning. The nervous system is affected greatly by restrictions in the spine and skull, therefore, releases in this system can improve conditions such as anxiety, acute stress and PTSD.
CST can be used on infants (birth trauma, feeding difficulties), children (ADHD and behavior issues) and adults (pain, chronic fatigue, TMJ, sinus problems, headaches).
