Tanya is a Mental Health Counselor and Mindfulness Instructor for the Mindful Living Group. Tanya earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Texas and completed her Masters Degree in counseling from St. Edwards University. She is completing her supervision in order to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in 2018. As a Master’s level counselor, Tanya provides individual and group therapy services for a variety of mental health needs. She is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and is a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. She specializes in mindful-based counseling and guided meditations for individuals and groups.
Tanya has been practicing yoga and mindfulness as a way of life since 2005. She is committed to a path of holistic health and wellness and is passionate about sharing the teachings of mindfulness with others. She is dedicated to her own mindfulness practices in order to be more present with her clients. She understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship and aims to provide a safe haven for clients to discover their own greatness.
Tanya has been fortunate to call Maui her home since 2015 and she is blessed to be part of a large Maui Ohana. When not in session, you will find her reading, meditating, enjoying her two keiki, or floating on the ocean.
