Jocelyn Cordero is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), Solution Focused, Crisis Intervention, and uses elements of Ho’oponpono (Hawaiian practice of forgiveness and reconciliation) in individual, couples, and families therapy. She has over 10 years of experience working with a diverse range of clients of all ages, addressing multiple needs, co-occurring disorders in various settings including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems, and mild to severe levels of functioning. Jocelyn believes in creating a safe and calm environment with the foundational belief that people can move toward growth and healing through the capacity of gaining greater access to their own answers.
Jocelyn’s focus in therapy includes assisting clients in feeling empowered and inspired to facing life challenges
and to embrace change. Goals are individualized, supportive and focused on guidance through challenging situations or new life directions. Jocelyn brings a multicultural perspective to therapy, having been born and raised in Hawaii. Her therapeutic style is a warm, client-centered approach that offers guidance, support, insight, and hope for improving overall life situation.
When not working, Jocelyn enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, going to the movies, and learning about history. Her mindfulness practices include walking and daily prayer. Jocelyn believes that in bringing awareness to thought, opens a true coming together of balance, peace, and acceptance.
